Caterpillars: Some caterpillars can be just as destructive to your Epiphyllum plants as snails. Moth caterpillars are often the most likely suspects when you find them on your plants. Caterpillar damage often looks just like snail damage, if no snail trails are found check your plants in the early morning hours for green caterpillars and their droppings.
Solution: inspection and hand picking are often the best control for caterpillars. For those pesky ones you just can’t find, sprinkling around your plants with an insecticide such as Triazicide is recommended. Usually one application is all that is needed.
