Registered in 1995 by Galen Pittman, HOT LAVA is a Watts hybrid. Just as the name implies this beautiful bloom has inner petals of deep red with an orange overcast. Each inner petal has a slight fuchsia edge near the throat. The second row of petals is deep red with an orange overcast. The outermost petals of this Extra Large (9+ inches) Epiphyllum bloom are dark red with just a slightly lighter mid-stripe.

  When established the plant has flat growth that is 2 – 4 inches wide. On average the branches grow about 2 - 3 feet a year. This is a very easy variety to grow and we often recommend it for the first time grower.
