Registered in 1939, King Midas is a Cactus Pete hybrid.

Although an older hybrid this Epiphyllum still ranks very high on most people’s ‘Wish List’. Every year its blooms delight you with such a wide range of color each flower is a show all its own. Inner petals are multiple shades of golden orange with a darker burnt orange throat. Each day the bloom is open the colors darken a bit more. This flower’s color is greatly affected by weather and its growing conditions. So much so that you can get a wide color swing between the 1^st bloom of the season and the last bloom of the season. This is a medium large bloom averaging 6 to 7 inches wide.

When established this Epiphyllum plant has thick spiney flat and three angled growth. Branches are ½ -2 inches wide and grow 3-6 feet per year. This variety is super easy to grow, if you are short on space you will need to keep it under control. We recommend this Epiphyllum for every level of grower.
